What are the benefits of a Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured drive shaft?

The Mercedes-Benz drive shaft genuine remanufactured part is used for transmitting power between the transmission and wheel and is part of the drivetrain. By choosing a genuine remanufactured part when your car is being repaired, you ensure that your Mercedes remains an original because wear parts are replaced only with genuine parts during remanufacture.

How does a car drive shaft work?

Drive shafts have the job of transferring the torque in a synchronized manner, which is why they are also known as "synchronization shafts." In the car, the engine power is transferred via the transmission/differential to the drive shaft. Depending on the drive type (front-wheel, rear-wheel or all-wheel drive), the power is transferred from the drive shaft to the wheel suspensions, where the wheels are ultimately driven. The drive shaft also has to balance the longitudinal and angular changes caused by steering movements or spring movements. This is achieved by means of a transmission-side constant velocity joint and wheel-side fixed joint, which ensure perfect synchronization at different angles. This is why the drive shaft includes a couple of small "refinements." Drive shafts have axle spindles on the wheel-facing sides to incorporate the wheel suspension components. The other end, at the transmission, is fitted with various vertical and horizontal gearwheels (crown gear, bevel gear, etc.) for compensating spring movements.

Since they balance the movements and transfer the torque, drive shafts / synchronization shafts belong to the subcategory of propeller shafts.
