What are the product advantages of the Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured alternator?

With standard Mercedes-Benz high quality, our genuine remanufactured alternator fulfills all requirements for optimal daily use. Through our remanufacturing process, all parts are disassembled, cleaned and freed from corrosion. Threads are repaired, and wear parts are replaced by Mercedes-Benz new parts. In addition, the rotor is balanced, something which ensures smooth running and long durability. Finally, the remanufactured alternator is tested by trained Mercedes-Benz personnel on test stands. It can thus be compared with a new part in terms of its quality.

How does an alternator work?

The purpose of the alternator is to convert mechanical kinetic energy into electrical energy. For this reason, the alternator is sometimes called a generator. To do so, engine output is transmitted to the vehicle belt drive, generating mechanical energy that the alternator can convert.

How to recognize a defective alternator

The majority of alternator defects arise due to friction at the ball bearings, commutators and slip rings.

Indications include:

  • Charge indicator lamp that becomes brighter as the speed increases (battery becomes hot)
  • Charge indicator lamp ON and battery is not being charged
  • Unusual noises from belt drive
  • Charge indicator lamp flickers (V-belt slips and squeals)
  • Positive diode defective (battery discharges when vehicle is at a standstill)

Quality, cost advantage and environmental protection with the Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured alternator.

Great importance is attached to the quality and reliability of the Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured alternator. Expertise from current Mercedes-Benz series production is also incorporated in the alternator remanufacturing process. The part can thus be compared with a new part in terms of the quality and functionality. In addition, you will receive a cost-efficient and environmentally friendly alternative when you purchase a genuine remanufactured part, as less resources are used than in the production of new parts.
