Starter
What are the benefits of a Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured starter?
The car starter from Mercedes-Benz is inspected and tested to the current standards of quality and starts the engine reliably. The remanufactured part offers a level of performance comparable to a new part. The first step in the remanufacturing process is to balance the rotor, which helps to increase smooth running. In addition, all the wear parts and electrical jumpers are replaced with new parts. To ensure that the Mercedes-Benz starter enjoys a long service life, special greases are used for the rotor, stator and epicyclic gear system to prevent rust and minimize mechanical friction.
How does a Mercedes-Benz car starter work?
Since the combustion engine cannot start by itself, the combustion process is initiated by the car starter. The starter briefly accelerates the combustion engine to 300 rpm using an electric motor. This takes place via the power transmission, which is achieved with a small pinion on the shaft of the starter. To prevent your vehicle from being damaged as a result of excessive engine speeds, the pinion is fitted with an overrunning clutch. This disengages once the engine has started up.
