What are the benefits of a Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured steering column?

The remanufactured steering column from Mercedes-Benz fulfills without compromises the high requirements of a safety-relevant component part. The material properties and geometry of the genuine remanufactured steering column are designed to minimize the risk of injuries in the event of an accident. The steering movement transfer is reliably ensured even when your vehicle has a high mileage. Thanks to our manufacturer expertise, you benefit from not only these high standards of safety and quality but also easy and comfortable steering and maneuvering at all times.

The development of the steering column.

In the early years of the automotive industry, the steering column was a much simpler component than it is today. They were designed as rigid tubes with the steering wheel attached at one end and a gearwheel gear at the other. The gearwheel moved the toothed rack, which was attached to the steering gear. Most steering columns today feature a telescopic design, which means that the component parts are pushed into each other in the event of an impact.

How does a steering column work?

The steering column is the interface between the steering gear and steering wheel; unlike in the former times when the power was transmitted by mechanical means, today the power is transmitted electronically. The steering column is attached to the underside of the steering wheel by means of tubular or rod-like carriers, which allows the steering movements to be transmitted to the steering linkage on the vehicle wheels.

The Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured steering column offers high quality and safety at low prices.

With a remanufactured steering column, you benefit from a Mercedes-Benz spare part that fulfills the high standards of quality of a new part. Since our remanufacturing process uses fewer resources than the manufacture of new parts, you not only save money but also reduce your environmental impact.
