What are the product advantages of the Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured drive shaft?

A genuine Mercedes-Benz drive shaft for vans as a remanufactured part transfers power between the transmission and wheel and is part of the drivetrain. Your Mercedes-Benz will remain an original as the wear parts are replaced only by genuine parts as part of the remanufacturing.

How does a drive shaft work?

In general, drive shafts transmit torque at perfect constant velocity, which is why they are also part of the propeller shaft subcategory. Engine power is transferred to the drive shaft via the transmission or differentials. Depending on the drive type, in front wheel, all-wheel or rear wheel drives power is transmitted from the drive shaft to the wheel suspensions, which results in driving the wheels.

Length and angular changes due to steering or spring movement are thus offset by the drive shaft. This is ensured by a transmission-end constant velocity joint and an outboard fixed joint that create perfect constant velocity at the most differing of angles.

Some refinements have been installed in the drive shaft to enable this. An axle spindle at the wheel end supports the components at the wheel suspension, while various horizontal and vertical gears (crown gear, pinion gear, etc.) that efficiently compensate for the spring movement are at the other end of the transmission.

Due to compensation of the movements and the transfer of torque, drive shafts and constant-velocity shafts belong to the propeller shaft subcategory.
