Using our exclusive manufacturer expertise, the old parts are disassembled, cleaned and industrially remanufactured in a careful process. Wear parts are always replaced with Mercedes-Benz GenuineParts. The other components are thoroughly inspected as part of a strict Mercedes-Benz process. This process ensures that Genuine Remanufactured Parts also meet the proven Mercedes-Benz quality standards.

The professional remanufacturing process ensures that Mercedes-Benz remanufactured parts display the same high quality, reliability and durability as new parts. This is why the same warranty regulations as for new parts apply worldwide to Genuine Remanufactured Parts.

Like GenuineParts, Mercedes-Benz Remanufactured Parts can be obtained from our Mercedes-Benz Service Partners as well as via WebParts and partslink24. The basic principle of the remanufactured part cycle at Mercedes-Benz is a deposit system. If the dealer orders a Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Part, he can send back the old part that was removed from the customer´s vehicle and then he receives a deposit value in return. The dealer sends the old parts back to the Logistics Center using the normal shipping channels and from there they are sent directly to Mercedes-Benz for inspection. The final deposit value is determined here based on the predefined take-back criteria which are familiar to all dealers. After inspection, the parts are sent to the Mercedes-Benz plant for remanufacturing. Once this has been completed, Mercedes-Benz Remanufactured Parts can be purchased like any other Mercedes-Benz GenuinePart.

The take-back of your removable part depends on its type and condition.

The following are permitted:

  1. Mercedes-Benz Genuine Parts
  2. Mercedes-Benz Genuine Remanufactured Parts
  3. OES parts in a Mercedes-Benz vehicle

The following are not permitted:

  1. Parts with mechanical damage (e.g. fractures, cracks, deformation, etc.)
  2. Incomplete or disassembled parts
  3. Parts with extensive corrosion
  4. Oil-smeared parts or parts filled with oil Please ensure that the oil has been drained off and that any major soiling has been removed.

The restoration of Mercedes-Benz Remanufactured Parts saves not only costs, but also huge amounts of energy and raw materials compared with new parts. This allows us to save thousands of tons of raw materials and tens of thousands of megawatt hours of electricity every year.*
How much exactly? The independent testing organization TÜV Süd has verified this and prepared a life cycle assessment**. Compared with the production of a new part, the remanufacturing of a single OM906 diesel engine saves 527 kg of carbon dioxide and 7.248 MJ of energy. In other words: These energy savings alone could operate a laptop for 1.2 years.

* Savings referring to the remanufacturing of parts.
